Yes, you can get broadband without a landline. Carnival Internet sells broadband only: no phone line, no line rental and no call plan to pay for. Most of our packages are full fibre, which runs a fibre optic cable straight to your home, so it does not need a copper phone line at all.
Older broadband (ADSL and part fibre, sometimes called FTTC) runs its last stretch over copper wire into your home. Full fibre (FTTP) replaces that copper with fibre optic cable all the way to a small box inside your home called an ONT. Your router plugs into the ONT, and that is the whole connection.
You pay for the internet you use and nothing else: no line rental and no bundled call minutes you never use. Prices start from £23.97 a month on a 24-month contract, and rise by £3 a month each April. See all our deals.
Most people now use their mobile, WhatsApp or FaceTime for calls. If you still want a home number, internet calling services work over any broadband connection, including ours.
The UK is moving every landline from the old copper network to digital by January 2027 (GOV.UK). If you have a personal alarm or telecare device connected to your phone line, check it works on a digital connection before you switch, and tell us so we can help.
No. Full fibre uses a fibre optic cable straight to your home, not a copper phone line.
Usually, yes, because you are not paying line rental or for a call package you do not use.
We do not provide a phone service, so ask your current provider about moving the number to an internet calling service before you switch.
If full fibre is not yet connected inside your home, an engineer installs the ONT. Standard installation is free.
Yes. One Touch Switching means we arrange the switch for you. How switching works.
